Photo 5 - Black and WhiteFor this photo assignment I chose to do black and white. I tried to capture contrast between the lights and darks of these images by putting a black and white effect in photoshop. In photoshop, I cropped the picture a tiny bit and added a black and white adjustment layer. ISO 160 f 5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/80 In this assignment I learned how to use photoshop to make an image black and white and got more practice with using the manual settings on the camera. It was really cool to see how taking the color away could change the mood of the pictures.

Photoshop 5 Multiple MeIn this assignment, we had to take multiple pictures in the same place with the subject in different places then put them ll together to make it seem like there are multiple copies of the same person. In photoshop we learned how to use layer masks. In this assignment I learned how to use the layer mask tool. This tool could be a little difficult as my photos didn't match up 100 percent correctly. Even though I used a tripod, the camera still moved a little bit between the photos. The patterned floor was the most difficult part to keep in line.
For photo 4 I decided to take pictures of my dog, Max. while I was trying to take pictures, my parents were eating dinner so I ended up having to hold a treat to keep his attention. I think these pictures show his personality as he looks at us like this every time we eat anything. Best picture after Photoshop. I increased the contrast and lowered the brightness a little. Original Photo F 5.6 ISO 3200 Shutter Speed 1/20 In this assignment, I started off with manual mode but switched it to full auto about halfway through. I think if I would have done this assignment again, I would have had brighter lights so the ISO was lower and chose a different time so he wasn't drooling as much.
Photoshop Assignment 4 In this assignment we had to change the context of the school. I decided to put the school in space and added an astronaut and a UFO to the photo. I learned how to be more precise with the selecting tools and learned about the magic wand tool. I was also able to use some creativity, which was pretty cool.
Photo Assignment 3 - NatureFor the third photo assignment I decided to focus on nature. I chose this because as the seasons are changing, the flowers will soon wilt. I needed to take these pictures before they do and will have time to do other subjects no matter the season. f 13 shutter speed: 1/320 ISO: 250 This assignment allowed me to practice using the camera in full manual mode. I enjoyed messing around with the focus. I had great difficulty picking the best photo as I really liked a few different pictures.
Panoramic PhotosFor this assignment we had to take multiple pictures and put them together in photoshop to create 5 panoramic photos. We used photomerge and the crop tool to do this. Through this assignment I learned to put multiple photos together through photomerge and how to use a tripod. In some of the photos I might have overlapped the pictures too much or not enough as there are weird pieces missing from the images. I also got more practice in full manual mode.
Photo 2 - ArchitectureIn this assignment I had to take pictures of architecture. I had the opportunity to visit Chicago for a concert so I took advantage of the architecture there. Shutter Speed- 1/100 F 5.0 ISO- 100 In Photoshop, I increased the contrast and cropped the photo. This assignment turned out to be more difficult than I had hoped. I had the camera in full manual which taught me a lot. A lot of my photos turned out a bit blurry so most were unusable. I learned a lot through this assignment such as using the different shutter speeds and adjusting the ISO and aperture to get a decent exposure.
Inspiration Post 2 - ArchitectureI have the opportunity to go to Chicago for a concert. While I am there, I plan to take this opportunity to take pictures of architecture as there is a lot a variance in the types of building in the city. Here are some cool photos I have found inspiration in. Jeremy Walter http://www.flickr.com/photos/abdhakamabdah/437147208/ http://fesyenz.com/architecture-photography/
Photoshop Assignment - RetouchingIn this assignment we had to use the stamp tool, quick selection tool, and the brush tool to edit a photo of a car to match the demo photo. Original This project was a bit frustrating as the clone tool did not always work as I wanted it to. I learned to use some basic tools in photoshop and when to use them.
Photo 1- PeopleIn this assignment I had to take pictures of people and show the person's personality. My subject was my friend, Danae. I wanted to show her curious and bubbly personality. I also had to fill the frame with the subject. f 6.3 Shutter Speed- 1/100 ISO- 100 I had a lot of fun with this assignment and learned a lot about how the settings of the camera need to change with different lighting. In this assignment I struggled with keeping my subject still as she would move before I had the chance to take a picture.
